As Bigtincan rapidly integrated cutting-edge generative AI features into its Modern Authoring suite, including text-to-speech for narration, speech-to-text for closed captioning, and translation capabilities, my role as lead designer was to seamlessly incorporate these features into the existing authoring environment.

Challenges

Designing for AI integration meant ensuring the new features felt natural within the existing framework. Since AuthoringAI was released in phases, designs had to be scalable and adaptable to future AI capabilities.

Process

My approach focused on blending AI features with existing authoring tools, ensuring they appeared “smarter” rather than disruptively new. I created wireframes that incorporated reusable conventions for content generation and alteration, making the integration smooth and intuitive.

Reflection

This project reinforced the value of designing adaptable systems in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. By focusing on scalable and intuitive designs, we ensured that AuthoringAI could grow with future advancements while enhancing the current user experience.
