Chris Keramidas makes all sorts of things. During work hours, he is a product designer.

When he’s not working on his portfolio, he writes in the first person.

My design journey starts in the mid 2000s, staring into the staticky CRT screen of my family’s shared computer, making what I can only generously describe as “visual experiments” with software of unknown, free, and maybe illicit origin. Little did I know (and to the surprise of my parents), spending my free time on the computer making websites, animations, posters, and images would lay the groundwork for my professional career decades later.

At some point when I was a pre-teen, I joined forces with some creative friends who needed quick, snappy intro idents for their fledgling YouTube projects. I wouldn’t become comfortable with After Effects’ graph editor or scripting for another decade, but I inched along and got a taste of motion design.

My next revelation in design happened when my lifelong passion for music collided with design. As a musician myself, I became a mutual resource among my musician friends for designing album art, promotional materials, show posters, logos, animations, and graphics for music. This is what led me into design as a career, and is still a driving force behind my personal design discipline.

While honing my design skills at DePaul University in Chicago, I gained an understanding and passion for accessibility, language, and communication in all forms visual. I owe so much of what I know and where I am to the generous professors who acted as my mentors at DePaul. I graduated summa cum laude in 2021 with a BFA in Graphic Design.

Since graduating, I’ve maintained my multidisciplinary design discipline, working with many of the same musician friends who helped me get my start, as well as stretching my abilities into more technical hobbies like circuit and industrial design. In my professional life, my focus is on digital product design, advocating for accessibility and clarity on digital platforms.

I’m open to challenging, fulfilling, and ethical work. If you’d like to chat, please reach out:
